You will serve as a Packing Inspector in the Personal Property Branch, Distribution Management Office, G-4 of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will inspect Transportation Service Provider (TSP) contractor work at owner’s residence and at contractor TSP agent warehouse facility during the packaging, packing, crating blocking, bracing, and method of handling personal property shipments. You will perform periodic inspection of contractors, TSP agents, and government warehouse facilities to determine of storage / handling methods are proper. You will ensure adequate protection is provided against fire, flood, theft, insect, vermin and fungus; and the facility is receiving adequate community fire and police protection. You will inspect shipments received from other areas during and after delivery to residence. You will advise owners of services available under provision of contracts and tariffs and coordinates details of movements between owners and TSPs and contractors.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
