The Wilmington VA Medical Center is recruiting for one Training Administrator. The Training Administrator will function in Health Administration Service.
Duties
Duties of a Training Administrator includes but are not limited to:
Participate in the completion of the annual Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment (WBRA).
Helps with the apprising the DBC of the current status of the facility Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) training program at least quarterly, including updates on unmet training requirements, and anticipated resource needs, and level of training compliance.
Assists VA medical facility Education Department and Talent Management System (TMS) administrator to ensure that:
All employees are assigned to, and complete appropriate elements of training based upon their individual workplace risk determined by the WBRA.
Any contractors, health professions trainees, fee-basis, or part-time personnel employed in workplaces with known risks as determined by the WBRA will be offered the opportunity to complete commensurate in-person training in PMDB and will at a minimum complete online introductory training.
Employees receive requested additional elements of training in disruptive behavior and workplace violence prevention.
Employee training is assigned, completed, tracked and reported correctly in TMS.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs/activities to meet the needs of hospital employees, affiliates, and the community.
Analyze resources available and include budgetary, staffing, supplies, equipment, and or availably of data/information, including utilization of info technology.
Serve as a resource to staff and to the simulation program.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform portions of the work. However, instructional materials, books, and manuals. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/13/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify for the GS-9 based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s), supervising or administering a training program, development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results, and working in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. OR,
Education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree.
You may qualify for the GS-11 based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-9 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: collecting and providing upon request training completion data, in aggregate, for reporting
and accountability, adhering to the guidelines established by the national PMDB program office, analyzing resources available and include budgetary, staffing, supplies, equipment, and, serving as a resource to staff and to the simulation program. OR,
Education: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
