About the Position: The Army Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) program falls under the APG Garrison Directorate of Human Resources (DHR). The ASAP Office provides education and early intervention to help commanders, civilian supervisors, and the APG community reduce lifestyle risk factors to increase healthy outcomes.

Duties

Serve as Chief, ASAP (Army Substance Abuse Program), planning, directing, supervising and evaluating the Installation's Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP). Assure coordination and integration of ASAP and local programs in an effort to enhance ASAP program effectiveness. Exercises operational control of ASAP personnel, facilities and funds. Provide data for budget and manpower planning to higher headquarters and manages and monitors the installation ASAP budget. Manage and monitor the Installation's Biochemical Testing Program; assuring military and civilian drug testing is performed IAW with prescribed procedures to include chain of custody procedures and physical security measures. Perform all actions in support of personnel, e.g. hiring, orienting, contracting, directing, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating performance.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
