Duties

Ensure that needed plane, blueprints, material and tools are available for each job. Monitor work while in progress and finished to ensure supervisor’s instructions, procedures, methods and deadlines have been followed. Advise supervisor on status of operations, delays and problems. Record time and attendance as needed.

Requirements

  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Qualifications

About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This positions serves as a Pipefitter Leader. WL-4204-10, located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC. Duties such as passing on directions to a number of employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with pipefitting work. I can assign the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group lead. Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentAttention to DetailPlumbing and PipefittingSelf-Management Physical Effort: The pipefitters make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and where the systems and equipment worked on are in hard-to-reach places. This requires the pipefitters to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The pipefitters frequently handle, lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment that weigh up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds). Occasionally, the pipefitters may lift and carry items that weigh over 23 kilograms (50 pounds). Working Conditions: The work is done inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. The pipefitters are sometimes required to make installations and repairs in areas where bad smelling fumes are present. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of uncomfortable heat conditions. The pipefitters are frequently exposed to the possibility of strains, cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, and infections. They are occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones.
