About the Position: Serve as a Transportation Specialist for one or more major transportation programs that involve national and worldwide movements of passengers, personal property and freight to include fleet management for the Army Sustainment Command.

Duties

Plan and coordinate transportation operations within the organization. Develop, plan, evaluate, and advise on policies and programs. Review and interpret regulations, directives, program documents, command guidance, to modify policies in order to increase overall efficiency, reduce costs, and avoid delays and backlogs. Conduct special projects and studies relating to problems or areas determined to be important for affecting efficiency and economy. Analyze documentation procedures and techniques with respect to cost, effectiveness, and efficiency, with primary attention to improve performance and customer service. Administer control of non-tactical vehicles consisting of cars, trucks and buses analyzing information to determine retention/repair of disposal actions of used vehicles or equipment. Use maintenance and utilization programs to extract data for computing statistical analyses and to track adverse trends in utilization and maintenance of vehicles.

• This position requires you to perform business travel / Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 20% of the time.
• This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: accounting, business administration, business law or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
