Managing the care for 6,101 Tricare beneficiaries, the position is essential to maintain continuity of care and safe healthcare practices.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce.
Duties
Direct interaction with patients via telephone seeking appointments.
Provides instructions to patient on preparations required prior to appointments.
Enters in-between encounters to patient's medical team as needed.
Manage patient flow as patients present to Military Treatment Facility.
Performs variety of receptionist, clerical and record keeping duties within various primary and specialty care clinics as needed based on daily staffing levels.
Completes Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) enrollment and demographics check, validation of health care plans, creation and modification of lifetime pharmacy encounters that enables the patient access to their medication.
Assists with management of various clinics messaging and scheduling pools and Schedule Requests Work Queues.
Queries caller as to the nature of request and schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments of various primary care and specialty care clinics.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and Certifications from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing customer service functions in a medical facility setting; scheduling medical appointments; and maintaining medical charts, files or records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
