You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR in the Navy Munitions Command Pacific East Asia Division Unit Pearl Harbor of NMCPAC EAD DET PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

You will operate truck tractor s with semi trailer or full trailer combinations with a gross vehicle weights exceeding 32,000 lbs. You will maneuver vehicles within narrow roads/confines and congested areas associated with magazine areas, holding lots and piers. You will operate tractor with flatbed trailer, flatbed truck with trailer for the movement of Conventional Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, Explosive Components and Material Handling Equipment. You will perform pre-operational, operational and post operational checks of motor vehicle operated in the course of your daily assignment. You will offload and on-load ordnance materials from trucks, vessels, and other conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, side loaders, and stacker cranes. You will assist in the placing of wooden blocks, wedges, bracing structures, partition bulkheads, deck boxes, and other staying devices, as well as securing/lashing items using wires, ropes, chains, cables, plates, and other hardware.

Requirements

  • You are required to possess a current valid United States Class A driver's license (Combination Vehicle) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Ordnance Materials Handlers certification.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain explosive driver and forklift operator's licenses
  • This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
