The Air Force Civilian Service is pleased to announce the Air Force College Premier Summer Intern Program (PCIP). Students in their junior year of a full-time baccalaureate program or half way through a Master's program will be able to apply for a full-time paid summer internship lasting 10-12 weeks during the summer session prior to their senior year.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The Premier College Intern (PCIP) program: To qualify for an internship as a GS-04: Completion of 2 academic years of Post High School study or an Associate's degree in a related field of study. To qualify for a GS-05: students must have completed four full semesters leading to a bachelor's degree, and must be enrolled in a full-time academic program, scheduled to graduate in the Fall semester of 2024 or Spring semester of 2025 to receive consideration. Applicants who have already attained a bachelor's degree may also be considered if they are currently enrolled in a full-time master's degree program, scheduled to graduate in the Fall of 2024 or Spring semester of 2025. You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited public or other non-profit college or university: · Enrolled in an approved degree program · Enrollment must be in a full-time program · Have a good academic standing (no less than 2.95 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale) · Meet the qualification standards of the position · Must be at least 16 years of age · A U.S. citizen or a national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island) · Must sign a Participant Agreement Medical, Health and Fitness Requirements: - Must be physically fit in order to perform strenuous and physically demanding duties - May be required to take a series of vaccinations and immunizations - Moderate to arduous physical exertion involving standing, walking, running - The use of firearms (prior to conversion to the 1811 job series, applicants must meet the initial and continuing AFOSI qualifications in the use of firearms) - Exposure to inclement weather or other environmental hazards - Manual dexterity - Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily - Corrected visual acuity: 20/20 or better with or without correction in the better eye or 20/30 or better with or without correction in the worse eye; near visual acuity: 20/30 or better, binocular conditions with our without correction @ 40 cm (16 inches); uncorrected visual acuity: 20/200 or better, binocular conditions without correction; visual field: full visual field in each eye; color vision: possess adequate color vision to correctly identify basic colors as demonstrated by passing the Farnsworth D-15 Test with less than two major errors; binocular depth perception: stereo acuity of 70 seconds of arc or better; night vision: normal dark adaptation and night vision - Adequate hearing is required in order to perform duties safely and satisfactorily; hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hz levels - Must possess emotional and mental stability - Any physical or mental condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard to themselves or others is disqualifying- - Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination (including vision, hearing, cardiovascular and mobility of extremities) by an authorized Government physician and be determined physically able to perform duties without being a hazard to themselves or others Note: There may be additional conditions and/or requirements as determined by the position being filled. DHA Post-Secondary Students may work full-time schedules during the student's Summer session/break. DHA Post-Secondary Students may be considered for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent appointment within 120 days of completion of degree requirements, if they meet the following: 1. Successfully complete academic course of study with a GPA of at least 2.95. 2. Meet the OPM Qualification requirements for the target position to which the DHA Post-Secondary Student may be converted. 3. Maintain acceptable performance. It is important to remember that eligibility for conversion to permanent employment is neither automatic nor guaranteed. You must upload/submit all required documents in order to be considered, i.e., Resume, All transcripts (we will accept unofficial), DD 214, Veterans Award Letter and SF 15 (if applicable). PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You may be non-competitively converted to a permanent appointment within the PALACE Acquire (PAQ)/Copper Cap (COP) or a similar Program. The target grade of the conversion could be above GS-11. The Premier College Intern Program targets individuals who are seeking a dynamic career with the Air Force Civilian Service in a variety of career fields by gaining real-world experience. You will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the Air Force Civilian Service.

Upon graduation and program requirement completion, a Premier College Intern may be converted to a career, career-conditional appointment into the Air Force Palace Acquire/Copper Cap or similar developmental training program without further competition.

Federal employment selectees who have completed part or all of their education outside of the U.S. must have their foreign education evaluated by an accredited organization to ensure that the foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the U.S. An evaluation is required before human resources can make an official job offer. We will only accept the completed foreign education evaluation.To be acceptable, the foreign credential evaluation must include/describe:
  • The type of education received;
  • The level of education in relation to the U.S. education system, and state that its comparability recommendations follow the general guidelines of the U.S. National Council for the Evaluation of Foreign Educational Credentials;
  • The content of the educational program earned abroad, and the standard obtained;
  • The status of the awarding foreign school's recognition and legitimacy in its home country's education system; and
  • Any other information of interest such as what the evaluation service did to obtain this information, the qualifications of the evaluator, and any indications as to other problems such as forgery.
To ensure evaluations are legitimate, selectees MUST provide an evaluation from a member organization of one of the two national associations of credential evaluation services. The evaluation must be produced during a timeframe when the evaluation service provider was or is a member organization of one of the two national associations of credential evaluation services listed below.

Evaluations that have been produced from non-member organizations, or during a time period when the evaluation service provider was not a member of a national association cannot be accepted.
  1. National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is an association of many credential evaluation services with admission standards and an enforced code of good practice.
  2. Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICE) is an association of many credential evaluation services with a board of advisors and an enforced code of ethics.
Credential evaluations are not free, and selectees are responsible for the cost of the selected service. The cost will vary according to the complexity of the case and the amount of documentation provided. Prior to submitting any documents to a credential evaluation service, applicants or selectees will also need to obtain English translations of any non-English documents, preferably notarized. The entire credentialing process may take weeks to months.
