The Motor Vehicle Operator Supervisor is responsible for planning and overseeing all motor vehicle operations in Facilities Management Service. Functions includes the transportation of patients, employees, and visitors between the off-site parking facilities and the medical center or community-based outreach clinics locations. This position will also perform Motor Vehicle Operator duties for the Eastern Oklahoma Health Care System.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/09/2024. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Motor Vehicle Operator must be in good physical and mental condition. The employee is subject to moderate amounts of reaching, bending, lifting, turning, muscular strain of back, shoulders, and arms to assist patients and maneuver vehicles into tight spaces and loading docks and ramps. Employee occasionally handles loading and unloading of items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Motor Vehicle Operator is subject to all kinds of weather conditions from hot (in excess of 110 degrees F), cold (minus 10 degrees F), rain, sleet, heavy freezing rain, and snow while driving. Vehicle cabs are normally kept warm in winter (65-75 degrees F.) and when the driver leaves the cab to work, the temperature may be as low as -10 degrees F. or below. In the summer, vehicle cabs are hot (100 degrees or above) from outside heat plus heat from vehicle engine and exhaust systems. Employee is subject to work on slippery surfaces during the winter months and during rainstorms in summer months. The Motor Vehicle Operator may encounter abusive language, combative passengers /patients and other types of abusive behavior from passengers while in route between destinations. Situations will be dealt with, as needed, at the driver's discretion and judgment. Some work may be performed in the Medical Center. The employee risks are typical of a hospital environment.
