Duties

You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist and is responsible for surveillance of the contractor's compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements for MDRS. You will analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends/conditions and/or weaknesses in the contractor's quality control system and monitors quality control procedures. You will review and evaluate technical data to identify characteristics that may affect the quality of the services and products provided. You will conduct surveillance to determine that services offered to the Government comply with contractual and technical requirements before they are accepted. You will administer and evaluate various segments of a complex and comprehensive logistics QA program designed to ensure that contractor(s) meet their responsibility for product quality and/or services in their respective areas.

  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 23 March 2006.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel up to 20% of the time.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying quality assurance principles and concepts while reviewing quality or inspection procedures for adequacy; evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems to determine supplier compliance with contractual requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Inspection ManagementProduct and Service ExaminationQuality AssuranceTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
