This position is assigned to the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) Engineering Section, NWI. As the program manager for maintenance, operations, and internal construction departments, the incumbent sets goals, prioritizes objectives and supervises the program in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Medical Center. This requires full utilization of manpower and equipment to ensure the needs of the Medical Center are delivered within budget limitations.

Duties

Major Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintains oversight of employees, observes work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems. Assigns work and provides technical direction; helps in accomplishing difficult work steps. Investigates work-related problems such as excessive cost or low productivity and determines causes. Recommends solutions to staffing problems and or work operations directed by others. Use a wide range of skills to manage the divisions/shops including scheduling, monitoring, progress assessment, and qualitative assessment methods to evaluate the efficiency of completed activities. Responsible for standardizing activities and establishing policies and procedures to effectively ensure consistently high performance for the requirements of the divisions/shops. Establishes operating guidelines to implement procedures and methods in delivering services or completing maintenance projects. Plans workload, sets work priorities and deadlines, and coordinates work operations among shops to complete operations or provide service. Endure all human resource functions, such as development of performance plans and appraisals are completed accurately, timely and in alignment with the needs of the Medical Center. Communicates to senior leadership and management committees at the Medical Center to assure the program meets the objectives of the Medical Center, Accrediting and regulatory agencies. Inspections of completed work may take the manager into high spaces, subject to crawling into small spaces, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching above the shoulders, etc. Working Conditions: The work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts associated with production area, such as exposure to strong odors or fumes from fuels or chemicals used in the work processes; or working near operating machinery, moving vehicles, or electrical hazards. The work situation requires the employees to continually stay alert and to take special safety precautions, including wearing special protective item of clothing.
