This position serves as a planner responsible for various airport and aviation planning activities for the Office of Airports (ARP).
Duties
FV-G Duties: Reviews airport and aviation planning documents. Coordinates findings with experienced planner or manager to ensure compliance with requirements. Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility.

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- This position has a positive education requirement. Transcript(s) required.
- Successful completion of a security investigation will be required.
Qualifications
In addition to the basic education requirement, to qualify for this position at the:FV-G level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5-9 levels. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience for the FV-G level: Experience in evaluating planning plans, studies or reports.FV-H level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G or FG/GS-10/11 levels.Specialized experience for the FV-H level: Experience in evaluating airport planning plans, studies or reports.
Experience in applying planning design principles. Experience gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources.FV-I level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 level.Specialized experience for the FV-I level: Experience developing or approving airport layout plans. Experience developing or reviewing planning consultant contracts and scopes of work. Experience providing advisory and technical guidance to the public on airport planning, airspace, programming, airport design standards, contract administration, and in general, on all aspects of airport project implementation.The position may be filled at the FV-G or FV-H or FV-I. Degree: community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.
OR
Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
