This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, DCMS, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Kodiak Personnel Support Department, Base Kodiak Child Development Center, Kodiak, AK.
Duties
You will serve as the assistant to the Child Development Director (CDC) assisting in the administrative, supervision, and technical operation of the center.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position requires a Care National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Bend and lift 30 lbs; obtain/maintain CPR certification
- Pre-employment physical and immunizations
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the Basic Qualification Requirements of the position:
Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position such as child development or early childhood education.OR
Combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirements, applicants must have at least 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent degree in a subject-matter field appropriate to this position such as child development or early childhood education.
OR,
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal service.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Some examples of specialized experience are:
Assisting in managing the operation of a child care center
Developing and implementing programs for center-based childcare services
Assisting in the preparation of an annual budget and funding request
Ensuring daily inspections are made to assure compliance with health, safety, fire, facility, and program requirement
