Duties
You will install the operating system and all required and optional authorized software applications on all end user computing devices.
You will evaluate, research, and report trends and patterns in customer support issues.
You will track, manage and report equipment inventories, life cycle management of hardware, software (and/or software licenses), and equipment disposal in accordance with policies and directives.
You will assist command in reporting loss or theft of information systems suspected of containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
You will initiate, track, and reconcile Information Technology Purchase Requests (ITPR).
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing Information Technology (IT) technical and administrative support such as troubleshooting, configuration, customer assistance, customer training, account management; systems and equipment access; AND ensuring the application of information security policies and procedures in the delivery of customer support services.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Translating technical specifications into integrated applications.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing user requirements to determine if systems meet business needs.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting with program managers to refine functional requirements.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interpreting and evaluating performance data.

Education
Basic Requirements
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
The following education can be substituted for experience:
master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
