Serves as the Director of Grants and Training in the Office of National Programs (ONP) within the Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS).
Duties
For the GS-0340-15-VETS Director, Office of Grants and Training
Serve as the principal advisor for the formulation, interpretation, and implementation of all grants and related training programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Direct the Grants and Training Programs in the Office of National Programs within VETS, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
Provide oversight, leadership, and guidance for the planning and execution of daily operations within the Office of Grants and Training, ensuring the effective and efficient management of VETS programs.

Provide leadership and direction in the coordination and execution of program functions within the Office of Grants and Training, including the implementation of new legislation and special initiatives.
Supervise the release, development, and maintenance of the VETS program directives pertinent to field activities, including policy statements, procedures, monitoring instruments, and management reviews.
Requirements

Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Director, Program Operations, as described below.
For GS-15: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-15 includes:
Assisting in the formulation, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures related to grants and training programs, particularly within a federal or state agency.
Participating in the development and evaluation of program goals, objectives, and initiatives, contributing to long-term planning and strategic alignment.
Engaging with external stakeholders, such as regional program officials, government entities, and other key partners, to coordinate and enhance program operations.
Education
There is no education in lieu of specialized experience at the GS-15 grade level.
