About the Position: This position is with the Executive Office located in Los Angeles, California. Serves as an adviser to the District Commander regarding congressional interests which impact the mission.
Recruitment/Relocation incentive may be authorized if found in the best interest of the Government.
Duties
Develops and maintains contacts and working relationships with congressional staff state offices and other organizations that are critical partners in Corps of Engineers programs and projects.
Facilitates effective communications between the commander, the DPM, and congressional offices through day-to-day contacts with state field office representatives and regular contact with Washington DC staff.
Maintains interface with DoD activities, DoE, other federal, state, tribal entities and local agencies, civic organizations, state and local government officials, public interest groups and citizens who have questions, concerns of inquiries.
Provides consultation and advice to the command group on a wide variety of technical and administrative issues that cross organizational and functional boundaries requiring executive office attention and action.
Ensures the establishment and sustainment of memorandums of agreements with universities in the Los Angeles District area of operations to ensure connectivity to students, deans of academic programs, and for maximum results during career fairs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating plans with District personnel; advising district commander and supervisors on policies; establishing interpersonal relations with various groups from governmental entities to the general public; and analytical analysis assessing program development.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
