Duties
As a/an Data Scientist, you will:
Function as a Data Scientist within the Evaluation and Analytics Division, in support of the Office of Technology, Innovation, and Evaluation and CPD program offices.
Consult with internal and external stakeholders and customers to identify the appropriate data, methodological approach, and design.
Translate the results of analysis into clear, actionable communications that equip Agency decision makers to make informed, data-driven decisions about digital product development and IT strategy.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Collecting data through multiple mechanisms (e.g., surveys or systems) for data analysis;
AND
- Preparing and delivering technical/narrative reports for making program decisions;
AND
- Using statistical analysis to develop, manage, and maintain models, dashboards, and reports.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the

Basic Requirements:
Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
