You will serve as a INVESTIGATOR in Command Inspector General/G7 of MARFORRES NOLA.

Duties

You will assist in the planning, directing and development of supplemental guidance, concerning policy directives and instructions and provide verbal or written advisories to the CIG concerning conduct of review, inquiries, and investigations. You will collect or review witness statements and other evidence. You will ensure investigations are conducted in strict compliance with governing directives and laws, and that the integrity and validity of the investigation is not legally or procedurally defective. You will conduct inquiries to resolve situations where individuals have made allegations or suspect that they have been wronged by a DoD system, interview employees in order to obtain facts. You will analyze, research, and maintain IG complaints and all case files in the Inspector General Case Action Manager (IGCAM). You will analyze, track, and maintain all Congressional Inquiries in accordance with applicable directives and policies tasked by the Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA), CMC, HQMC concerning members of Marine Forces Reserve / South. You will analyze, research, and maintain all records in accordance with applicable orders and directives regarding submittal of Request Mast to CMFR.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must complete the IGMC Mobile Training Team (MTT) IG Course for certification within six months of employment or first available opportunity.
  • Must maintain proper IG certification and credentials as outlined in MCO 5430.1A; Marine Corps Inspector General Programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and conducting investigations covering the character, practices, suitability or qualifications of persons or organizations seeking, claiming or receiving Federal benefits, permits or employment.
