You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GEOGRAPHER in the Facilities Asset Managment Division of the Installation & Logistics Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will develop and implement the MCAS Yuma strategic plan, developing an annual budget and submission to the POAM process. You will manage local content and permission to GeoFidelis Online and provide input for continuous process improvement. You will provide technical advice and guidance to facilitate GIS data collection, publication and usage. You will develop and maintain GIS programmatic documentation, program policies and procedures. You will collect data, perform specialized and complex GIS spatial queries and analysis and create and maintain GIS datasets, controlling access to installation datasets to ensure security of installation data. You will coordinate GIS training and support for various users and customers aboard MCAS Yuma. You will perform supervisory duties, directing and coordinating the work of assigned personnel.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing geospatial analysis by applying principles of geospatial information systems, managing the development of geographic data and products, overseeing teams and projects in a geospatial environment, AND analyzing and interpreting spatially distributed data. Basic Requirements

  1. Degree: geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields.

    OR

  2. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related field that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
