About the position: This position will be assigned to the Marketing Office.
This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours but has the potential to work up to 34 hours/week dependent on mission needs. Pay is based on experience.
You may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Employees are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.
Duties
Assists in developing and implementing marketing programs for the Force Support Squadron (FSS).
Under the direction of the Marketing Specialist, assists in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation and increase financial income to FSS activities.
Assists in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research.
Using standard industry practice, computer software and/or instruments specifically developed for use within FSS, adapts or modifies research techniques for local purposes.
Administers surveys, collects data, tabulates responses, and assists the Marketing Specialist in analyzing results.
Keeps the Marketing Specialist informed of consumer trends and their application to the activities.
Makes recommendations to the Marketing Specialist on program modifications and enhancements.
Assists in developing training programs for FSS employees in areas related to marketing such as the marketing process, advertising strategies, customer relations and media techniques.
Attends major FSS events and provides constructive marketing feedback to the activity manager.
Assists in conducting advertising campaigns.
Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs and offers for activity managers.
Assists the Marketing Specialist in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market.
Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mix.
Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in activities by considering the characteristics of the target audience and the media mix necessary to reach them.
Assists in conducting media relations with on- and off-base media in concert with the Public Affairs Office. Provides or arranges for photographic support for squadron functions.
Prepares and presents briefings to base functions such as newcomer's orientation and Commander's call.
May drive a motor vehicle in the performance of duties such as to attend and coordinate marketing activities on base and in the local area, distributing marketing materials.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices.
Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform research, select, arrange and compose material and maintain well-organized files.
In addition, must have specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to design and layout advertising copy and artwork using desk top publishing software, word processing and other software.
Must have experience developing, conducting and analyzing market research information.
Must have ability to read, write and speak English.
Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Background Investigation.
This is a position of trust.
Must be able to provide a valid driver's license at own expense and maintain a valid driver's license through employment.
This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent is subject to random drug testing.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
