Duties

As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) you will be responsible for the following duties:

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.

  • Incumbent may be required to possess or achieve technical certifications to perform position functions effectively.
  • Incumbent must possess the legal and personal qualifications to operate passenger-type motor vehicles.
  • The duties of this position may require temporary duty travel (TDY) and/or local travel.
  • Any Information Technology/Security certifications / education specified in the DCWF Annex as defined by DoD 8140-M within six months of appointment date.
  • The incumbent must sign a Statement of Understanding regarding the certification requirements and maintaining the appropriate certification is a condition of employment.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS-GG 13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience in agile IT project management, software development and/or solution delivery; excellent organizational, task management and communication skills. Developing, implementing, and improving IT and organizational delivery processes. Experience with IT contracts, to include developing/scoping technical IT requirements and costing. IT strategy and planning, tracking execution to plans. Possesses a cross-functional skill-set in IT management: planning, requirements, budgeting, procurement, execution, test and validation, training, close-out. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Leadership: Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations. 2. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. 3. Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. 4. Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. 5. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 6. Program Management - Designs, implements, and manages multiple or ongoing programs/projects and directs the related resources, personnel, and activities.
