THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an SUPV IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC)-Title 5, Position Description Number T5821300 and is part of the WI 115 FW, Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Duties

Responsible for direct supervision of information technology personnel. Assigns, directs, and reviews work, determines work methods and procedures, establishes standards of performance, and makes formal appraisals of subordinates' work. Perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) tasks for all applicable networks and systems. Provides oversight for the Communications Security (COMSEC) account for the Wing and subordinate units. Provides general guidance and broadly defined objectives, as to scope and priorities of projects and requirements in the branch. Coordinates with higher headquarters (HHQ) elements, Program Management Offices, Specific System/Hardware Support Elements, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vendors and vendor contracted support facilities for issue resolution. Provides input to and coordinate on relevant support agreements that require section support to make sure they correctly identify products and services needed. *** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. ***

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-2210-12 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade that demonstrates the ability to analyze, develop, and recommend standards concerning information assurance, documentation, techniques, and integration associated with information assurance and accreditation. Candidate can follow security policies, work with other agencies to develop procedures to protect information in the networks. Candidate has experience being able to identify and report violations of system security. Experience on designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems and services. Candidate has knowledge of the concepts, principles, methods, and practices in information systems to design, develop, implement, and maintain secure systems. Experience assessing effectiveness of current systems security and services; evaluating feasibility of new systems security and services; and able to provide advice and guidance on complex issues. Experience with oversight for the Communication Security (COMSEC) preferred but not required. Experience in managing the function of work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
