The Infrastructure & Platforms Chief, Platform Tools Branch which is established to evaluate, develop, deploy, and maintain a set of integrated, re-usable, standardized services to deliver the right infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Duties

Duties include: Serves as a Platform Tools Branch Chief that manages, directs, and leads Infrastructure and Platforms efforts to develop new and improved concepts, principles, and techniques that will advance the body of knowledge of computer science that adapts and applies advanced computer science methods and techniques to solve complex computer processing requirements. Manages, directs, and leads the development, integration, and maintenance of platforms such as Platform as a Service (PaaS), application development and tools, automated configuration, DevSecOps pipelines and strategies, code version control, documenting implementation plans and deployment workflows, policies, processes, methods, and tools for the project or system. Aligns plans with the project or system requirements, specifications, and goals while working with the stakeholders to approve and review progress regularly and follows agile project management methodology by coordinating with product owners, stakeholders, and support on capacity planning, project planning, and establishing and adhering to timelines and schedules. Supervises the Platform Tools Branch staff responsible for deployment, integration, implementation, operation, and maintenance of CDAO services and applications Collaborates with other Infrastructure & Platforms division branches on integrating emerging technologies using industry best practices and consults with customers to meet the needs, business processes, and functional/non-functional requirements.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: If applicable, include text from job analysis. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: performing market analyses to discover the current state-of-the-art in fielded AI, knowledge of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, developing performance standards, maintaining technical proficiency and stays abreast of current scientific developments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met at the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-15 grade level.

Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.

PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education .

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
