This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Medicare Program Operations & Integrity Group (MPOIG).
As a Supervisory Program Manager (Deputy Group Director), GS-0340-15, you will serve as Deputy Group Director and are responsible for supporting Beneficiary and Provider Services and for influencing and interpreting Medicare payment policy.
Duties
Performs full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities.
Explains the use of new processes and IT systems that best capture Program Integrity (PI), Provider Enrollment (PE), and Beneficiary and Provider Services (BPS) data; and develops supporting methods to use in achieving work goals and objectives.
Provides advice to Group leadership and staff on complex coordination of benefits errors such as but not limited to: beneficiary enrollment, entitlement, eligibility, premium billing and collection and complex coverage and payment policies.
Assists the Group Director to identify, prioritize, and implement program initiatives to enhance delivery, quality, and value of services to beneficiaries
Establishes and maintains partnerships with health care providers, and other stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding of all Medicare coverage and payment policies, new initiatives, and program changes that impact relevant stakeholders.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Overseeing the use of new processes and systems that captures, identifies, and prioritize program initiatives such as Program Integrity (PI) to enhance delivery to beneficiaries;
Providing advice to leadership and staff on complex Beneficiary and Provider Services (BPS), Medical Review (MR) and other complex benefit errors that would result in a resolution in Medicare payment policies;
Developing methods to improve production of work directed and develops performance standards; AND
Setting strategic direction of continuous improvement activities for customer service efforts.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
