The Deployed Resiliency Counselor Supervisor provides leadership, direction, supervision, guidance, consultation, assistance, and coordination for all aspects of the Deployed Resiliency Counselor (DRC) program. The incumbent will perform a full range of duties, responsibilities, and tasks associated with maintaining a high-quality, proactive, supportive clinical services program for eligible personnel.

Duties

Provides program expertise and management, including resource planning, program development, guidance, consultation, field assistance and coordination, and making recommendations to higher management. Provides oversight and guidance in implementing required training, prevention programs, and installation/regional technical assistance for the DRC program. Develops program plans, implementing policies, Standard Operating Procedures, protocols, and programs for delivery of clinical services in compliance with requirements, laws, and regulations. Supports coordination of the delivery of DRC services to other Navy vessels and tenant commands located in the region, as appropriate, e.g., temporary assignments to smaller ships/tenants and transiting to new duty stations/brief underway periods. Assists DRC supervisors with the accomplishment of personal logistics involved in deployment preparation, mid-deployment support, and sea-shore rotations.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: 0101/0180/0185 5 years' specialized experience in applying principles and practices (such as research methods, group dynamics, motivational psychology, domestic violence, developmental psychology, and family systems therapy. licensure/certification by a state or U.S. territory that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology AND 2 years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification? A current license must be uploaded/included with your application to be considered for this position.

Education

Basic Requirements: 0101

Bachelor's degree or higher in behavioral or social science; or related discipline as appropriate to the position, such as Marriage and Family Therapy; Mental Health Counseling; or completion of a degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) AND at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, or the provision of maternal or child health support services.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, including at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, or the provision of maternal or child health support services.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, including at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, or the provision of maternal or child health support services.
OR

Basic Requirements: 0180

Doctoral degree (Ph.D or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology AND 5 years of specialized experience.

OR

Basic Requirements: 0185

Master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND 5 years of specialized experience.

AND

Possess one of the following degrees:

(1) Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs or an equivalent degree.

(2) Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree.

(3) Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree.

(4) Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a 1-year APA accredited clinical internship.
