This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Physical Security (NNT) organization of Security and Continuity of Operations (NN), Chief Administrative Office (N). A successful candidate in the Physical Security Specialist position will perform analytical, planning, advisory, operational, and evaluative work in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a physical security program.

Duties

As a Physical Security Specialist, you will: Serve as a source of authoritative information and guidance on physical security for all BPA organizational elements. Provide policy consultation and direction; interpret various security requirements and guidelines; and support the implementation of security program measures based on Executive Orders, other laws, administrative rules and directives required under Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protections (CIP) standards. Perform strategic planning for the physical security and compliance programs, including significantly new or far-reaching physical security program requirements. Develop and document BPA physical security policies, plans, procedures, and enforcement provisions. Provide subject matter expertise in the design, development, evaluation, and oversight of the installation of security systems and devices to protect personnel and facilities.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in planning and evaluating a physical security program or continuity of operations that meets regulatory standard and protects infrastructure, personnel, and assets.
