You will serve as a MACHINIST in the CNC and Precision Machining Shop 31A, Mechanical Division (TRF-320), Repair Department (TRF-300), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIFEFFAC), of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will be responsible for serving as a Machinist responsible to perform machining, milling, grinding, honing and related bench work.
You will be responsible for planning and laying out work orders and performing machining required to accomplish the overhaul, repair and maintenance of submarine machinery and equipment.
You will be responsible for analyzing engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, Technical Repair Standards, Maintenance Requirement Procedures, and NAVSEA Technical Manuals.
You will be responsible for maintaining liaison with other trade and technical personnel to discuss a variety of technical issues associated with the machining and plating of submarine equipment and machinery.
You will be responsible for performing related duties including quality control coordination tasks required to ensure the quality of products/services resulting from work performed.
You will be responsible for performing a variety of machining operations in support of the repair of submarines, Regional Maintenance, and Advance Equipment Repair Program (AERP).
You will be responsible for preparing, implementing, and maintaining shop floor for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools programs, and various other programs related to parts and fixture manufacturing, repairing, and overhauling.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain IT-II designation.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Incumbent must be a journeyman machinist with specific training in On-Machine Numerical Control Machine Tool Programming.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Experience demonstrating limited knowledge of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tool set-up and ability to design and manufacture set-up fixtures.
Experience interpreting instructions, specifications, work requests documents, blueprints, and drawings.
Experience using metals and metal alloys, and other materials, technical practices, as well as the maintenance and testing as related to machining, overhauling and repair to submarine machinery.
Experience using machine tools and programs as it relates to CNC machine tools.
