About the Position: This IT Specialist (Customer Support) position is located at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center, Director of Admin Information Management, in Fort Meade, MD.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Duties
Respond to, resolve, or forward customer requests for Information Technology services or problems.
Serve as point of contact (POC) for day-to-day technical support, administrative support, and troubleshooting that includes telecommunications, automation, security, and customers unique requirements.
Serve as liaison between the Information Management Division and users on technical issues and provide / coordinate technical advice for project leader and activity POC.
Prepare written reports identifying problems and recommending corrective actions.
Assist in analysis of user requirements and defining alternative system approaches.
Participate in automation projects and studies emphasizing on desktop configuration, implementation, and activity-unique services.
Assist with preparation of briefings to team leader, activity POC and Management.
Ensure compliance with all Federal Public Law, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act, Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and Medical Command statutes and regulations.
Prep LAN accounts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- The employee must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- The employee may be required to work overtime.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- The employee may be required to perform duties via telework during severe weather or other installation closings.
- Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
- The employee must possess or be able to acquire Information Assurance Technical Level II DoD approved certification(s) within six (6) months of entering into position, if new to the DoD Cyber Workforce.
- The employee must possess or be able to acquire Systems Administrator level II certificates.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
- Must maintain appropriate certification(s) as condition of employment, IAW Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program DoD 8570m.

Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience which includes experience maintaining computer hardware and software; providing technical IT advice in direct support of users; and resolving automation problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as computer/cyber science.
