This position is located in the Historic Preservation, Cultural Resource Compliance - Transmission (EHT), Historic Preservation, Cultural Resource Compliance (EH) organization in Environment, Fish and Wildlife (E), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
A successful candidate in the Historian position will ensure that historic built environment resources are given full consideration in assigned projects for all Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) undertakings.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-11] in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) Experience planning or leading historical research projects or field studies representing a broad range of historic events and time periods; 2) Providing assistance in consultation or guidance under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); AND 3) Assisting in the assessment of building or construction project compliance with historical or cultural laws, regulations or other requirements.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
