This position is located in the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI in Logistics Service. The Materials performs warehouse work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. The primary purpose of this position is to provide warehousing, distribution and receiving of supplies goods and equipment.
Major Duties: -Receives incoming shipments and checks the items against the electronic purchase orders and other related documentation to verify correctness. -Records, annotates and forwards all appropriate information in accordance with current procedures and notes discrepancies such as shortages and damages. -Maintains the flow of the warehouse by moving, delivering, shelving, storing and inventorying materials and equipment per appropriate procedure.
-Works with the Warehouse supervisor and Equipment Inventory Management Specialists to ensure the appropriate disposition of equipment.
-Places items appropriately on shelving, pallets on bins to ensure adequate safeguards and access.
-Prepares authorized materials for shipment both small package and bulk.
-Sorts and delivers incoming mail, picking up intra-office and processing outgoing mail, supporting the mail center with off campus deliveries.
-Operates and maintains a variety of powered industrial vehicles, including powered hand trucks, fork lifts, and other vehicles.
-Will frequently handle equipment, furniture, and materials of an awkward and heavier nature in excess of 100 pounds. These items are typically handled using specialized equipment and/or assistance of coworkers.
-As required, operates a vehicle, truck, or van not exceeding 26000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), with electrical or hydraulic lift.
-While operating vehicles, may be required to exert a greater level of physical exertion while backing and turning trucks, operating forklifts, or hand trucks on uneven terrains and uncertain conditions.
-Electronically receiving items into inventory, scanning floor stock, picking and filling orders, putting and stocking shelves in primary and secondary inventory points in a clean/sterile environment.
-Work involves considerable walking, pushing, and pulling a variety of carts and material handling equipment. Works offloading and loading trucks, lifting products on and off-shelves, handling boxes frequently weighing over 40 pounds.
-Greater physical effort may be required on projects involving the movement of large quantities of product over an extended period of time including, but not limited to, turn-ins, large shipments and deliveries.
-Required to work in storage buildings, pods, trailers, vehicles and warehouses that may be hot, cold, drafty, and poorly lighted. Will be required to work outdoors, on docks, making deliveries in ally types of weather conditions during all seasons. Hazardous materials may be encountered in daily work activities.
-Must possess a valid, state drivers license or commercial drivers (CDL), as applicable, if required to operate a motor vehicle or commercial vehicle.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/04/2024.
Your background must demonstrate understands how to load supply carts, vehicles, tubs, or pallet to ensure the safest and most efficient process; thorough knowledge of Integrated Funds Control Activity Point (IFCAP) and the Generic Inventory Package (GIP) and other computer menus/programs; knowledge of postal regulations, operating mail meter machines and scales, mail room processes including, but not limited to, sorting, invoicing, forwarding, scanning, and handling certified/priority mail; safely handle all materials including hazardous and delicate equipment using correct lifting techniques and operating or using a variety of material handling equipment including powered hand trucks, fork lifts, and motor vehicles; understands and interprets a variety of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety standards, directives, spreadsheets, handbooks, and policies; reads, writes, understands processes, and maintains files of various government and commercial documents.
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume.
