Duties
You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/NETWORK) in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (CODE C1100) of the MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER (MARMC) in NORFOLK, VA.
You will serve as a Network Engineer responsible for planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information technology hardware, equipment, appliances, and system software.
You will administer, plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, and modify the network infrastructure and associated systems, equipment, and appliances to solve problems or accomplish work processes.
You will manage accounts, network rights, network resources, access to the network and associated equipment, systems, and appliances.
You will monitor the network environment utilization and functionality using software and hardware monitoring tools.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 441 proficiency level BASIC the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

**AND**
In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying expert knowledge in the configuration and administration of network devices to include routers, switches, firewalls, VPN devices, and IP-based communications services.
Experience applying expert knowledge in the administration of Windows Server Operating Systems and/or Windows Operating Systems including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DHCP and DNS, and the various roles, services, and features of Windows server products.
Experience applying expert knowledge in organizational network architectures and infrastructures, topologies, and protocols sufficient to develop and implement migration strategies including planning for continuity of operations during the deployment of new server technology.
Experience applying expert knowledge in network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management and maintenance concepts and methods sufficient to develop and present plans for integrating new server technology existing architecture.
Experience applying an in-depth knowledge of IT principles, methods and practices to perform assignments to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of automated systems, networks, and data/information.
