This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Duties
Responsible for conference room configuration (organizing tables, chairs, audio/video equipment from storage to actual setup) and breakdown and proper storage of this equipment in an efficient and organized manner.
Loads and unloads equipment and furniture, moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage.
Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required for the applicable conference/meeting set up.
Cleans work area such as carpets and floors using heavy industrial-powered equipment.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
- Required to stand, walk, bend and kneel for lengthy periods of time.
- Work is generally performed in a building that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. However, some work may be performed outdoors. There is also some possibility of cuts and bruises to fingers while performing these tasks.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
- This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
- An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
- Must be willing to accept part-time or intermittent, on-call employment.
- Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
- Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or special events.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
at least three (3) months experience performing laborer duties, AND
Duties can include but are not limited to:
loading and unloading equipment,
moving materials using hand trucks or dollies,
stacking and arranging materials,
cleaning work areas, etc.
knowledge of operating simple power equipment and hand tools such as steam cleaners and vacuums, AND
knowledge of performing routine maintenance procedures for equipment (e.g. visual check of the equipment, limited lubrication, cleaning/replacing air filters, refueling, etc.), AND
ability to understand and follow oral instructions, AND
ability to read and write in order to prepare required forms, AND
ability to follow written guidelines and/or instructions.
