Duties

This position works in the Facility Management (FM) Division of Pacific West Region (PWR). The PWR consists of over 60 National Park Units in the six States of CA, NV, OR, ID, WA, HI as well as the three US Territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The position is responsible for management of the Line Item Construction (LIC) Program in PWR parks as well as overseeing all PWR submissions to the Investment Review Board (IRB). The position works with Park Superintendents and Project Managers in preparing and making project presentations to the IRB. Annual construction funding for the LIC program in PWR ranges between $10-50+ million. The position manages diverse and complex projects ranging from new construction and/or major rehabilitation of visitor centers, employee housing, offices and maintenance shops, monuments, utility systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, historic building and ship restorations, and landscape restoration projects. Program management requirements include oversight on managing funds for construction and professional service consultant contracts and ensuring the timely obligation of planning and construction funds. The position supervises four to seven professional program staff. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
