About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.

Duties

Prepare detailed plans which support execution of an agency's policies and/or strategy. Develop operation plans to support the strategic mission and operational support for an agency. Conceptualize detailed policy and procedures on items of special interest. Present briefings to diverse audiences such as stakeholders, tenant organizations, the community, and/or other external representatives. Assess the impact on changes to plans that will have an effect on resources and timeliness of an agency and its tenants or communities. Maintain the five-year long range planning calendar to ensure synchronization of recurring major academy events and operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
