About the Position: This position serves as editor for the JBLM News web site located in the Public Affairs Office at US Army Installation Management Command at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Duties

Serve as editor for the JBLM News web site. Monitor JBLM News and other JBLM social media to prevent violations of security or regulations, and to ensure JBLM stories reflect command policy. Maintain calendar of events, ceremonies and correlates news coverage with appropriate information offices and sources. Take and review photographs for required cropping, reformatting and arrangement to best represent narrative material and generate reader interest.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Affairs Administration, Public Management and Leadership, Ethics and Social Justice in Public Affairs, Legal Issues in Public Affairs, Research Methods for Public Affairs, or Media Communications or Journalism. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
