About the Position: Join us at the United States Southern Command. We provide direct support to a four-star unified Combatant Commander, but are compact enough that our staff also works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and (public and private) international partner organizations. Our contribution to furthering our country's relationships with South and Central American nations and peoples are substantial.

Duties

Draft reports, presentations, and papers, to internal and external senior officers and executive level leadership. Provide advice, leadership, and direction in the development, revision, and review of logistics policy documents, posture plans, assessments, ground equipment readiness and logistics commodity areas and initiatives. Exercise final authority for the full range of personnel actions and organizational design, mentor and advise staff, and develop and communicate performance standards. Manage the oversight of the Executive Administrative Branch to supervise and coordinate the activities of two divisions and six branches within the divisions. Manage the daily administrative, resource, operational, and logistics support functions. Develop the execution, and reconciliation of the annual budget for Temporary Additional Duty (TAD), civilian training requirements, operations and maintenance expenses, and official representation funds. Serve as principal advisor and exercise executive responsibilities on a broad range of complex and multi-faceted logistics issues and administrative matters.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement 10% of the time.
