About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Validate purchase requests according to established guidelines.
Assist maintenance MRP Planner/Buyer in making necessary adjustments to Depot Overhaul Factors to eliminate excess inventory.
Review special inventory categories to promote the economical use of parts on hand.
Contact other shops to perform needed reclamation of parts.
Ensure the timely generation of requisitions processed via Military Standard Requisitioning according to Army regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) at least 25% or more.

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) one (1) year by a current permanent Army employee.
Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted
Position may be made permanent without further competition

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: initiating purchase requests for supplies, parts, materials, services, and equipment to implement parts management program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
