This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC T32, Position Description Number PDD2324000 and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, National Guard.
Duties
This position is located in Tucson, AZ with the 162d Air Wing. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. Its purpose is to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, ECM Pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. The stations are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable units (LRUs) and Pods.

Conditions of Employment
ARIZONA AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard, in a military position assigned to 162d.
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Individual selected may receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver's license.
Must be able to maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
Employee must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years; must maintain the position's mandatory AFSC skill level and continue on-the-job proficiency requirements; must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds; must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time.
This is a developmental position description. If selected as a WG-2610-12, the selected employee enters formal career skill development using an Individual Development Plan. Known promotion to WG-13 may be considered after completing all required military training and is awarded the identified compatible 7-level AFSC and must successfully complete all assigned IDP skill tasks with concurrence from supervisor.
Military grade will be determined at time of selection and is dependent upon military positions available on the Unit Manning Document. Individual selected may have to be reduced in grade if a military position at their current grade is not available in order to be selected for this full-time position.
Qualifications
WG-12: Inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. Knowledgeable of stations that are used to repair and maintain all avionics LRUs and pods. Skilled in analyzing performance, running tests, conducting inspections, troubleshooting, identifying and isolating malfunctions, disassembling, modifying or repairing and reassembling the test stations or electronic circuit maintenance pods and their associated peripherals. Skilled in reading the complex inter-related variables that resulted from a mix of computer hardware and software, stimulus and measurement systems, and special purpose test subsystems. Experience analyzing malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, programming tables, computer program flow charts, software user guides, computer program listings and factory drawings. Skilled in diagnosing circuit operating characteristics using computer query, system peculiar test equipment, and computer diagnostics. Experienced in isolating problems to the failing part using equipment such as, self-test diagnostics, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, signal generators, digital, and differential voltmeters, computer registers and printouts and other special and standard tools and test equipment. Competent in removing and replacing components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, or parts using special and common hand tools, soldering devices and special electronic instruments. Experience modifying and updating avionics pods or support equipment and support software according to applicable technical publications. Competent to analyze program data and determined if the criteria are sufficient to provide adequate testing and troubleshooting. Skilled in examining recurring malfunctions and software deficiencies and determined testing voids and initiated corrective action by submitting quality deficiency reports, software deficiency reports, or proposed modifications. Experience connecting associated testing equipment to interface the test station system to the aircraft system and pod; facilitated maintenance and repair of pod or line replaceable units from the avionics systems such as radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial FWS navigation, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems. Competent in determining if failures are caused by the unit under test. Skilled to identify a malfunction and isolated it to the specific component(s). Skilled in the task of disassembling and repairing or replacing solid state devices, micro miniature modules, gyros, sensors, transducers, and any other required parts; followed by the reassembly and performed operational tests. Experience with the identification of test program malfunctions and informing Air Force Logistics Command of the problems. Experienced in the development and/or modification of software, interfaces, extender equipment, or additional items of test equipment or completed work in validating technical data concerning the repair, maintenance, and test of the test station and units under test. Competent in processing and accounting for due-in-from-maintenance supply assets. Skilled in documenting maintenance repair actions and man-hour accounting on maintenance forms and computer systems. Skilled in maintaining historical data of repaired components and of the test stations. Skilled in complying with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Experienced in the procedures involved with the proper storage, protection, and maintenance of all work-related material and equipment.

Knowledgeable of stations that are used to repair and maintain all avionics LRUs and pods. Skilled in analyzing performance results, running tests, inspecting, troubleshooting, identifying and isolating malfunctions. Experience to disassemble, modify or repair and reassemble test stations or electronic circuit maintenance pods and their associated peripherals. Skills include the ability to consider the complex inter-related variables arising from a mix of computer hardware and software, stimulus and measurement systems, and special purpose test subsystems. Skilled in initiating technical data changes. Skilled in providing hands-on training instructions to lower-grade personnel concerned with repair of computer controlled automatic test equipment, manually controlled test equipment, LRUs and aircraft integrated systems. Experience with the preparation and participation in various types of readiness evaluations such as, ORI, IG Inspections, and UEIs and mobility and command support exercises. General knowledge in structural fire-fighting, aircraft fire, aircraft crash and rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment. Skilled in the compliance requirements concerning safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Experienced in the procedures involved with the proper storage, protection, and maintenance of all work related material and equipment.
