This position is located in the Housekeeping Department of the Lawton Indian Hospital and is supervised by the Housekeeping Aid Supervisor. The incumbent is responsible for a full range of housekeeping duties. Housekeeping functions are within the main hospital building as well as the exterior buildings on the campus.

Duties

Sweeps, mops, scrubs floors, walls and applies wax and polishes floor surfaces. Cleans and maintains powered equipment by cleaning, oiling, or adjusting machines. Collects and transports soiled and contaminated and other bio-hazard materials in accordance with proper disposal procedures. Washes and disinfects all discharges and transfer beds, furniture and other equipment. Gowning-up prior to entry into sterile area for very precise detail cleaning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the federal wage system job grading standards. No specific length of experience is required. Perform ice and snow removal from sidewalks and entrance ways; cleanup spills, debris, and litter from common areas; and remove soiled and/ or contaminated items following strict procedures to prevent cross contamination. You may need to lift and move heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds. You may need to stand for prolonged periods on concrete floors. You may need to bend, stoop, walk, stand and climb. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
