THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a WELDER T32, Position Description Number PDD1215000 and is part of the AZ CSMS, National Guard.
Duties
This position is located with the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of welding in support of maintenance activities.

Requirements
- ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the CSMS.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted State (and Military) Driver's License.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance within one year of appointment.
- Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Applicants must possess or be able to gain and maintain access to all required systems and the AZ-ARNG Network. This position requires constant domain access.
Qualifications
Military Grades:
Enlisted: E-3/PFC to E-9/SGM/CSM
Warrant Officer Candidate: WOC
Warrant Officer: W-1/WO1
Compatible Military Assignments: Possess or be able to obtain 91 Series MOS
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months experience or training demonstrating the application of a variety of electric resistance welding processes and equipment. Experience in using accepted trade methods and a variety of manual welding processes to weld all types of commonly used metals in various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. Experience using a wider range of metal welding processes to make more difficult welds meeting close tolerance, strength, and other requirements. These welds may be in hard-to-reach places. Experience which allows the welder to devise special jigs and fixtures to hold the parts to be welded. Experience which demonstrates knowledge of several related trade procedures. Experience which enables the lay out and planning of work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
