This position is located at Outdoor Recreation, BLGD 608, South Terminal Road, Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Duties

Serves as a Recreation Assistant in support of a recreational activity applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation equipment, materials, and facilities. Instruct customers in the proper use of equipment and programs within area of responsibility. Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities and trips such as, but not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips. Transports large groups of people on trips to locations throughout the installation using a fifteen passenger van with max of 4,130 pounds and assist with loading and unloading of passengers. Performs other duties as assigned.

• This position has critical safety or security responsibilities. Incumbent of a Testing Designated Position (TDP) is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs.
• This position requires lifting of items up to 50lbs. A pre-employment physical examination is required.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. HIGHLY PREFERRED Are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and all of the following: Completed or currently pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or related field. Completed or currently in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants that are considered highly preferred may be sent first for consideration.
