About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Dental Activity at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.
Duties
Serve as a Human Resources Assistant for a Dental Activity (DENTAC) performing administrative and technical work supporting military and civilian human resources programs, operations, and functions
Coordinate with the human resources analyst, initiates, processes and tracks personnel actions including record updates, assignments/reassignments, contingency operations, awards, and strength management.
Provide guidance and assistance to subordinate Dental Activities (DENTACs) and clinics as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You may be expected to travel up to 5% of the time for this position.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which utilizing Microsoft Office to create memorandums, power point slides, send and receive emails, and update calendar; processing military and civilian personnel actions, including record updates, assignments/reassignments, contingency operations, military and civilian awards, and strength management; and using automation systems such as, IPPS-A, iPERMS and EES to generate personnel reports and correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
