Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Trust Funds Administration, Trust Operations - Information Resources & Trust Records, located in Albuquerque, NM.
At the full performance level GS-11 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Plans, schedules, and documents the installation of new or modified IT Systems.
2. Optimizes the functionality of systems. Maintains systems integrity and availability, anticipating likely capacity or configuration problems and initiating corrective or preventive actions. Diagnoses and recovers failed systems.
3. Consults with customers to identify priorities and best approaches for integrating systems administration requirements into daily operations.
4. Determines best approaches for implementation aligned to Department and the organization's strategic and funding priorities.
5. Researches options for problem resolution and recommendations. Presents in writing or orally to audiences within and external to the organization, identifying priorities and barriers to project accomplishment.
6. Ensures guidance and work products comply with Department and the organization's IT security requirements. Identifies and mitigates security vulnerabilities and risks.
7. Maintains familiarity with IT Systems configuration.
8. Contributes to authoring and executing detailed test plans. Contributes to the preparation of change requests and configuration management submissions. Performs other duties as assigned.
BTFA has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.

Salary Information
GS-11: $73,317 - $95,310 per annum
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet either A. Experience OR B. Education AND C. Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
A. Experience: All applicants must possess one year of IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

B. Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
AND
(2) Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1) Implementing, managing, and troubleshooting of wireless based SMS messaging and information delivery systems within a hybridized datacenter environment (e.g. Attention);
2) Performing endpoint configuration management and security patch delivery/implementation utilizing enterprise-wide CM tools (e.g. IBM BigFix, MS Config Manager, MS InTune);
3) Maintaining enterprise software license management through federated identity providers (ex. SPI SAML, OIDC, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory);
4) Maintaining configuration management database (CMDB) through the use of enterprise grade device discover tools (e.g. ServiceNow Discovery); and
5) Automating server, application, and Active Directory related information gathering, analysis, and management tasks through the development of 'scripts' written in common 'languages' (e.g. PowerShell).
Must Meet at least 3 of 5 Specialized Experience Statements.
