You will serve as a Operations Research Analyst in the Warfighting Assessment and Readiness Directorate of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY.
Duties
You will be responsible for any or all of the major phases of complex systems studies, operations research analyses, or war games.
You will act as a project team specialist or as an independent research analyst.
You will develop new theoretical and mathematical frameworks to be applied, especially in the assessment of proposed capabilities based on recent scientific findings.
You will examine major, critical, and complex issues including alternative forces employment strategies, force requirements, force war fighting capabilities, and logistics requirements.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Off island travel of two to four trips per year of up to two weeks’ duration may be required. Deployment in support of operations/ Fleet exercises may be
required for up to one month or longer.
- Occasional assignment to exercises and at sea experiments may require living on board war ships for several weeks at a time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Operations Research Analyst utilizing a range of statistical methods to identify and produce mathematical models derived from operations research analysis by modifying operational dilemmas to create efficiencies of operational processes.

I have a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research.
OR
I have successfully completed a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
