About the Position: Serves as the Supervisor for the Field Operations Division, which includes interment operations, grave site and headstone maintenance, and preservation of designated special areas at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC).

Duties

Administer a variety of management programs for the units supervised, such as safety, cost reduction, incentive awards, beneficial suggestions, and quality assurance. Analyze work schedules; decide labor, tooling, material requirements, and methods to be used. Allocate resources and distribute work to organizational segments or groups under the incumbent’s control. Oversee the execution of Army National Cemetery (ANC) policies and interment operations procedures to ensure 100% chain of custody for human remains. Responsible for two casketed remains teams, conducting approximately 3000 in-ground casket interments as well as maintaining burial sections for ANC. Safely completing over 7000 interments annually for our nation’s active-duty service members, Veterans and eligible family members. Provide oversight for two cremated remains teams responsible for approximately 4000 Cremated inurnment operations of in-ground and columbarium urn placement.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Incumbent must possess and retain a valid state driver’s license and must pass testing for and retain a government driver’s license.
