This position is a Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-6/7 working in Cortland, NY for the R5-New York Ecological Services Field Office.

Duties
As a Administrative Support Assistant your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Performs a full range of administrative support functions. This position's primary assigned technical duties to include correspondence, records management, financial accounting, and database management. Other areas of administrative support may include mailing, public contact (customer service), and general office support.
Assists in preparation and review of travel authorizations and vouchers; provides HR assistance and guidance; assists with payroll questions; and reviews, maintains, and ensures accuracy of time and attendance.
Follows procurement rules and regulations, procures supplies, equipment, and services, and assures obligations are met promptly: prepare invoice payment packages; prepare and monitor purchase requests; conducts market research.
Act as station's custodial property officer (CPO): conducts inventory of accountable property; maintains personal and local property database; completes certifications; and completes appropriate transfer forms.

Qualifications
Only experience and education obtained by 09/10/2024 will be considered.
In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification.
Minimum Qualification [GS-06]
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes: (1) Using various word processing and spreadsheet software to create document and spreadsheets; (2) Assisting with procurement of services and supplies; (3) Assisting with the preparation/reviewing of travel vouchers; (4) Serving as a timekeeper using an automated timekeeping system; (5) Independently preparing forms, documents, correspondence; and (6) Assisting in the preparation of budgets. Minimum Qualification [GS-07]
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes: (1) Using various word processing and spreadsheet software to create documents and spreadsheets; (2) Purchase supplies and equipment; (3) Preparing travel vouchers and advising on travel regulations and procedures; (4) Budget related duties including tracking budget and financial data; and (5) Preparing and reviewing correspondence and/or reports requiring prescribed formats, proper grammar and spelling. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
