THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AUDITOR (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5147P01 and is part of the IL USPFO, National Guard.
Duties
As a AUDITOR (TITLE 5),GS-0511-11, you will serve as an agent of the United States Property and Fiscal Officer on accounting, financial, and managerial issues that require examination by a financial professional.
Utilize professional accounting and auditing knowledge, provides recommendations in the solution of accounting and operational problems and implementation of new or changed regulations, procedures and analyses of automated systems.
Utilize professional accounting and audit skills to maintain oversight for implementing appropriate laws, directives, and regulations of internal control programs and procedures.
Document results in accordance with Comptroller General Standards, DoD, Army, Air Force, and Army and Air National Guard policies.
Perform complex professional accounting and review activities involving in the analysis of accounting records.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis in the coordination and resolution of problem.
Perform a variety of internal review assignments of medium complexity that require ingenuity in applying conventional and advanced techniques in gathering and evaluating pertinent data.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis in the coordination and resolution of problems.
Determine the scope of studies based upon a review of material received, familiarity with operations and relationship of financial management and its automated systems.
Provide unprogrammed, quick reaction troubleshooting capabilities wherein the objective is to prevent serious problems from developing.

Qualifications
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: MUST have a degree in accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting? (The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.) You must provide copies of your official transcripts to support your educational claims at the time of application.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the knowledge, training or experience in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material; ability to comprehend and/or apply problem solving and negotiating techniques; skill in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; and the ability to prepare reports and presentation formats.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - MUST possess the experience, education or training which includes at least 1 year at the lower-level GS-09 in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation, Auditor. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: conduct in-depth research and analysis in the coordination and resolution of problems; utilize professional accounting and auditing knowledge, provides recommendations in the solution of accounting and operational problems and implementation of new or changed regulations, procedures and analyses of automated systems; review automated accounting and financial systems and identifies the need for changes to enhance system capability to track and report financial reports and operational data used by local management.
