About the Position: This position involves writing, editing, and coordinating reports, presentations, and correspondence related to USACE programs. Responsibilities include managing the preparation of feasibility studies and project reports, planning and overseeing public meetings, and ensuring accurate and effective communication with audiences. The role also involves providing administrative support, monitoring report schedules, and ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.

Duties

Drafts and edits reports, presentations, speeches, and correspondence tailored for different audiences, ensuring alignment with USACE programs and policies. Manages the preparation of reports, including feasibility studies and ongoing projects, from initial draft to final publication, adhering to schedules and guidelines. Coordinates and plans logistics for public meetings, including creating presentations and illustrative materials, and ensures effective communication with various stakeholders. Gathers, analyzes, and organizes data for inclusion in reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the subject matter. Monitors report schedules, prepares status updates for senior management, and ensures timely completion of all administrative tasks related to report preparation. Stays up-to-date with regulations, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring all reports and public involvement programs meet required standards.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management or Business Administration. OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: English, Journalism, and/or Communications. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
