A Without Compensation (WOC) position is open in the San Francisco Veteran Affairs Health Care System, Research Department. The incumbent will provide research support for several NIH and Alzheimer's Association funded studies of genetic and lifestyle risk factors dementia. The position will be a hybrid wet and dry lab position, with the incumbent carrying out a limited variety of standard laboratory procedures for biospecimen processing in the wet lab.
Duties
Assist the Principle Investigator and Study Coordinators in the coordination of daily study operations for several NIH and Alzheimer's Association funded studies
Help draft and revise research documents including grants and reports
Assist with manuscript and report preparation and submission
Assist with the preparation and submission of written and electronic materials for scientific meetings including PowerPoint presentations and posters
Assist with data management and data summaries
Prepare and submit IRB applications and renewals
Assist with purchasing research supplies
Assist with conference travel arrangements and reimbursements
Perform other research administrative duties as assigned
Under supervision, process biospecimens such as isolating DNA from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs)
