This position is located in the Resolution & Receivership Branch of the Legal Division and provides legal advice and counsel, primarily to the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships (DRR) and the Division of Complex Institution Supervision and Resolution (CISR), on a variety of resolution, receivership, transactional, and policy matters. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-13: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience drafting memoranda and other legal documents; conducting legal research; formulating recommendations; and orally presenting analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. Specialized experience must be directly related to the position being filled and is experience gained after issuance of bar membership. This position has a positive education requirement, transcripts must be provided showing degree conferred. Official transcripts must be provided prior to appointment. Education: All attorney and law clerk trainee positions have a minimum education requirement of a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from a school  accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Bar Membership: All attorney positions require current active bar membership (valid license to practice law). Admission to the bar of any state, District of Columbia, any United States territory or Commonwealth, or Federal Court is acceptable. Active Bar membership must be verified prior to appointment. Employees must maintain active bar membership while employed as an attorney with the FDIC. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
